Come aboard the Día Tuanis, a 28' Shamrock offshore sport fishing boat with outriggers, fighting chair, and space for up to 4 passengers — operating out of Marina Pez Vela in Quepos.
Captain Javier brings 19+ years of experience fishing these waters. Whether you're trolling for sailfish, popping for roosterfish, or jigging for tuna — he knows where the fish are and how to put you on them.
Fish you catch are yours to take home — the crew will clean your catch for you. Families and kids are welcome aboard. Just bring a hat, sunglasses, sunblock, and a cooler for the ride home.

Hit the deep water in half the time. Ideal if you want a shot at billfish and tuna without committing to a full day.
3/4 Day Offshore
~6 hours
The sweet spot — more time on the water means more chances at trophy fish. Venture further offshore for the best action.

A full day working the inshore reefs and rock formations. Target the prized roosterfish and explore multiple fishing spots along the coast.

Went mahi fishing last Thursday with Javi and his son Andy. I felt welcomed and had complete confidence in Javi and Andy from the start. Javi's boat and fishing equipment is in top notch shape. Wow, what a superb day and experience with Waltrip Cortez! The best sea fishing trip of my life. Sailfish after sailfish. Javier and Marlon worked hard all day to keep us on the fish. Changing baits and lures to keep working at the fish, and it paid off.
Unbelievable day. We had a sailfish on within 15 minutes of starting to troll. We had our 5 mahi within 90 minutes with many more hooked and released. Javier and his mate took unbelievably great care of us. What an amazing day!!! Our crew ranged from 11 years old to 57 years old. Recommend 5 out of 5 stars!!!!
Javier and Andy are a power Father/Son team working together to give their customers a great experience! They provided a bunch of snacks, water, juice, soda, and beer for the day. Though it was a slow start of the day, Javier was able to navigate the waters and find the best spots to catch fish! We ended up with 7 Mahi Mahi! Andy rigged every line up with bait, assisted you with the rod when a fish was on, hooked the fish to bring into the boat, and also filet the fish. Javier and Andy's family business is amazing and would recommend them for your next fishing trip!
My husband and I had such a great time with Captain Javier and his first mate — from the very beginning Captain Javier's communication was timely and transparent. We got to head out early before 7 AM and were the first on the water. We caught 3 Sailfish and 1 Mahi Mahi. The boat was clean and perfect for fishing. The pineapple, watermelon, drinks, and snacks were very much appreciated too. We also got to see dolphins up close and personal. If you're considering booking, do it! It was worth every penny spent — great value and even better experience that we'll remember forever!
